Information Technology Workshop Lab Equipment Manufacturer, Supplier and Exporter in India

Quick answer. Check that each trainer teaches technology that is still in service and still examined. IT-0001 to IT-0023 mixes current subjects, such as PC assembly and servicing, laptop troubleshooting, the switching power supply and UPS trainers, networking and laser and inkjet printers, with legacy ones such as optical drives, scanners and modems, plus a dot matrix printer that suits clerical programmes. Buy current units to class size, buy legacy units singly if your syllabus still names them, and ask what the handheld games unit is meant to teach. Then note the gaps: solid-state storage, mobile device repair and virtualisation are not covered.

What this range covers

Twenty-three units, coded IT-0001 to IT-0023, equip an information technology servicing workshop: PC fundamentals, assembly and system servicing, computer and laptop troubleshooting, a set of assorted laptops for assembly practice, a switching power supply trainer, a UPS trainer, four optical drive trainers, a hard disk drive trainer, an LCD monitor trainer, a modem, a scanner, a router kit, two networking trainers, three printer trainers covering laser, inkjet and dot matrix, and a handheld games unit. A PLC and pneumatic control trainer, MW-0010, also appears in this listing; it belongs with the mechatronics workshop range and is flagged here so you are not surprised by it.

This range needs a harder look than most, because information technology obsoletes its own teaching equipment faster than any other trade. Several units here are the right purchase for a current programme, several are right only if an examination specification still names them, and a few subjects a 2026 syllabus expects are not in the listing at all. We would rather set that out than sell you a bench of trainers your students will never meet at work.

The Technology Currency Check

Apply this to every line of a quotation before approving it. For each unit, ask one question: is the technology it teaches still in service, and does my examination specification still name it? There are only three possible answers, and each implies a different decision.

UnitsPosition in 2026Decision
PC fundamentals, PC assembly, PC and computer servicing, troubleshooting, laptop troubleshooting, assorted laptops, switching power supply, UPS, LCD monitor, router, networking and network technology, laser and inkjet printersCurrent. These are the subjects of working IT support and bench repair todayBuy to class size
Hard disk drive, optical drives (DVD-ROM, DVD-RW and two Blu-ray units), scanner, modemLegacy or narrowing. Mechanical hard disks are still widely installed and worth teaching; optical drives, flat-bed scanners and standalone modems are largely out of serviceBuy if the syllabus examines it, or for the principle it teaches well; one unit rather than one per bench
Dot matrix printerObsolete for general computing, but alive in one real niche: impact printing is the only way to produce multi-part carbon-copy stationery, which banks, railways, insurers and logistics still useBuy for an office-equipment or clerical programme; skip for a general IT programme
Handheld games unitNot a servicing subject in its own rightAsk what it is intended to teach before including it

And the honest gap. Three things a current IT syllabus usually expects are not in this listing: solid-state storage, including SATA and NVMe drives and the diagnostic tools that go with them; mobile device repair, which is now a separate bench needing a microscope, hot air and microsoldering; and any provision for virtualisation or cloud work, which in practice means a server or two and network storage rather than a trainer. If your programme covers these, tell us and we will quote them in; do not assume a general IT trainer set covers them, because this one does not.

The two units that can hurt someone

An IT workshop feels like the safest room in a technical institution, and two items in this listing are the reason it is not.

The switching power supply trainer, IT-0007. A switched-mode supply rectifies the mains directly, so its primary-side capacitors hold a charge of several hundred volts after the unit is unplugged, sometimes for minutes. Nobody opens one until they have been taught to wait, to measure the capacitor voltage and to discharge safely, and until a meter is to hand to prove it is dead. This is also the single best lesson the unit teaches, and it transfers to every other appliance a student will ever open.

The UPS trainer, IT-0008. A UPS is the one piece of IT equipment that cannot be made safe by pulling the plug. Its battery is a live source with the mains disconnected, its output can be energised while the room supply is off, and a shorted battery terminal will deliver a very large fault current through a spanner or a watch strap. Isolating the battery is a separate step from isolating the mains, and the exercise sheet should say so in those words. Ask what battery the trainer uses, whether a battery is supplied with it, and whether the unit has a battery isolation switch. Lead-acid batteries vent hydrogen on charge and need ventilation; sealed types still vent under fault conditions.

Static damage, and why students do not believe in it

Electrostatic discharge is the discipline that separates an IT workshop from a room with computers in it. The reason it is hard to teach is that static damage is usually latent rather than immediate: the board the student handled carelessly works perfectly today and fails three weeks later, by which time nobody connects the two events. Set the expectation on day one and equip for it - a wrist strap and a grounded mat at each bench, a common grounding point, conductive trays for boards and a rule about where a removed board is put down. Ask us to quote the mats, straps and trays with the trainers rather than afterwards; they are cheap and they are what makes the rest of the equipment last. Anti-static handling, board-level rework and soldering for this kind of work are covered by electronics training tools and soldering and desoldering stations.

Laptop batteries deserve their own line. The assorted laptops for assembly practice, IT-0006, will arrive with lithium packs of unknown age. A swollen pack is never punctured, never charged and never left in a drawer; it goes into a metal container away from anything combustible and out for proper disposal. If you are importing the laptops, lithium cells are a dangerous good for transport and need their test documentation, so confirm with us whether packs are shipped with the units or supplied locally.

What the networking units teach, and the alternative worth pricing

Three units cover networking: a router kit, a computer networking and communication trainer and a network technology trainer. Ask three things of each. Does it teach a vendor command line or a generic interface, and which does your syllabus examine? Does it support the topics the syllabus names - addressing, subnetting, virtual LANs, routing - or only cabling and connectivity? And what are the consumables, because in networking they are cable, connectors, a crimping tool and a cable tester, and a class gets through a surprising quantity of all four.

Worth pricing alongside: for a programme that examines configuration rather than cabling, a small rack of real switches and routers, with a patch panel and console access, often teaches more per rupee than a purpose-built trainer, because the student meets the interface they will meet at work. The trainer wins on structured exercise sheets, on safety and on being a single supported item with a warranty. Ask us to quote both against your syllabus and compare them on what the student will be examined on.

Software, licensing and the bench itself

A PC servicing workshop runs on software as much as hardware, and this is the cost most often left out of a tender. Operating system licences are normally not included with training hardware; nor are imaging and cloning tools, diagnostic suites or office software. Decide before you order how many benches need a licence, whether your institution has an education agreement, and whether the exercises can use freely licensed tools instead. Courseware that teaches IT subjects as software rather than hardware is listed under the software workshop range.

For the bench itself: one trainer per practical group rather than per student, benches deep enough to open a tower and a laptop side by side, enough sockets per bench with earth-leakage protection, storage for screws and small parts that is not a shared tray, and a labelled parts store. Count the practical groups in one session first; it is the number that decides the whole quotation.

Related ranges and what to ask for on the quotation

The nearest neighbours are the consumer electronics workshop for domestic appliance and audio-video servicing, the electrical and electronics workshop for fundamentals, bench supplies and instruments, the communications workshop for transmission subjects and the test and measurement workshop for the instruments all of them need. The full set is listed under workshop training equipment.

Ask for: a written list of what each trainer includes, down to leads and media; whether the storage trainer covers SATA and NVMe as well as mechanical drives; whether a battery is supplied with the UPS trainer and whether it has a battery isolator; the exercise or experiment list each unit is designed to deliver, to compare against your syllabus; what software is needed and what is licensed; consumables with prices, which here means cable, connectors, toner, ink, print ribbon and thermal paste; nominal voltage, frequency and plug pattern; and the warranty, spares and local repair position. For any certification stated here, contact us for the latest copies of the relevant certificates before you tender on it. For a quotation, tell us the destination country, the number of practical groups and the syllabus or tender specification you are working to.

Frequently asked questions

Which of these IT trainers are still worth buying?

Apply one test to each line: is the technology still in service, and does your examination still name it? PC fundamentals, assembly, servicing and troubleshooting, the laptops, the switching power supply, UPS, LCD monitor, router, networking and the laser and inkjet printers are current, so buy them to class size. Mechanical hard disks are still widely installed and worth teaching, but optical drives, flat-bed scanners and standalone modems are largely out of service, so buy one unit for the principle if examined. The dot matrix printer suits an office-equipment or clerical programme, since impact printing still produces multi-part carbon-copy stationery.

What does this listing not cover that a current IT syllabus expects?

Three things. Solid-state storage, including SATA and NVMe drives and the diagnostic tools that go with them; ask whether the storage trainer covers those as well as mechanical drives. Mobile device repair, which is now a separate bench needing a microscope, hot air and microsoldering. And any provision for virtualisation or cloud work, which in practice means a server or two and network storage rather than a trainer. If your programme covers these, tell us and we will quote them in; do not assume a general IT trainer set covers them. Note also that MW-0010 belongs with mechatronics.

Why does the switching power supply trainer IT-0007 need special care?

A switched-mode supply rectifies the mains directly, so its primary-side capacitors can hold a charge of several hundred volts after the unit is unplugged, sometimes for minutes. Nobody should open one until they have been taught to wait, to measure the capacitor voltage and to discharge it safely, and until a meter is to hand to prove it is dead. That discipline is also the single best lesson the unit teaches, and it transfers to every other appliance a student will ever open, so build it into the first exercise sheet rather than treating it as a side note.

What precautions does the UPS trainer IT-0008 need?

A UPS is the one item of IT equipment that cannot be made safe by pulling the plug. Its battery is a live source with the mains disconnected, its output can be energised while the room supply is off, and a shorted battery terminal will deliver a very large fault current through a spanner or a watch strap. Isolating the battery is a separate step from isolating the mains, and the exercise sheet should say so in those words. Ask what battery the trainer uses, whether one is supplied, and whether there is a battery isolation switch. Lead-acid batteries need ventilation.

How should the assorted laptops IT-0006 and their batteries be handled?

They will arrive with lithium packs of unknown age. A swollen pack is never punctured, never charged and never left in a drawer: it goes into a metal container away from anything combustible and out for proper disposal. If you are importing the laptops, lithium cells are dangerous goods for transport and need their test documentation, so confirm whether packs are shipped with the units or supplied locally. Equip the benches for static at the same time, with a wrist strap, a grounded mat and conductive trays, because static damage is usually latent and shows up weeks later.

Should we buy the networking trainers or real switches and routers?

Ask three things of the router kit and the two networking trainers: whether they teach a vendor command line or a generic interface, and which your syllabus examines; whether they cover addressing, subnetting, virtual LANs and routing or only cabling and connectivity; and what the consumables are, since cable, connectors, a crimping tool and a cable tester are used up quickly. For a programme that examines configuration, a small rack of real switches and routers with a patch panel and console access often teaches more for the money. The trainer wins on structured exercise sheets, safety and a single warranty. Ask for both.

Key takeaways

  • Run the currency check: for every line, ask whether the technology is still in service and still examined.
  • Legacy units singly: optical drives, scanners and modems justify one unit for the principle, not one per bench.
  • Wait, measure, discharge: IT-0007 can hold several hundred volts on its primary capacitors after unplugging.
  • Isolate the UPS battery separately: on IT-0008, pulling the mains plug does not make the unit safe.
  • Equip for static from day one: wrist straps, grounded mats and conductive trays prevent latent damage that appears weeks later.
  • Budget for software: operating system, imaging and diagnostic licences are normally not included with training hardware.
